INFO DAY 11/07 - Nº 10:

Only a draw for China

China dominated and fought hard against New Zealand but only managed to get a 1-1 draw on Sunday in the second round of the 12th women's Champions Trophy yesterday at the Jockey Club of Rosario.

The first half was even with good chances for both teams, but China opened the score - in the ninth minute - through Quiqui Chen.

New Zealand fought hard to equalize, getting the tie through Tara Draysdale from a short corner, in the 26th minute.

From then on, the Asian team was who had the best opportunities, but they could not score and both teams were to the break drawing 1-1.

China dominated the second half, but showed lack of precision in front of the Kiwi goal defended by Beth Jurgeleit, who put up a wonderful performance along with her team who multiplied for defending.

New Zealand: Jurgeleit; Galletly, Igasan, Weavers, Sutherland; Draysdale, Robertson, Carr; Senior, Sharland and Roberts-Lang. Also played: Naylor, Maloney, Orr and Dillon. Coach: Ian Rutledge.

China: Yimeng Zhang; Yibo Ma, Yingling Qiu, Shaoyan Mai, Xuejiao Huang; Quiqui Chen, Aili Li and Qunqing Chen. Also played: Baorong Fu, Quingling Song, Dan Yu and Tanhui Wang. Coach: Changback Kim.
