Holland and Germany tie, Argentina go for the bronze

Holland and Germany tied 1-1 condenming Argentina to play for the third place of the 12th women's Champions Trophy on Saturday at the Jockey Club of Rosario.

The first half was lacklustre with few scoring chances and spectators booing both sides.

Just two minutes before half-time, Holland was close to net from a penalty corner, but the strong shot from Maartje Paumen was saved in style by German keeper Yvonne Frank.

In the 34th minute, all the stadium noisily celebrated Fanny Rinne's goal from a penalty corner, which put Germany 1-0 ahead giving Argentina the chance to play the final.

After half-time, Holland attacked from the very start looking for the equalizer, which got - in the 47th minute - through Ellen Hoog who shot alone in front of Frank's goal.

Holland were closer to take the lead after the break. In the 54th minute, a powerful shot by Maartje Scheepstra was impeccable saved by Frank, but a German counter-attack was also close of the goal when Anke Kühn deflected a cross which was just wide.
