Gold Medal for Netherlands

Holland defeated Germany 2-0 in a re-edition of the Olympic final yesterday, but this time it was the Dutch who won the gold of the 12th BDO women's Champions Trophy at the Jockey Club.

After a first half so boring than on Saturday between both teams, Holland went to half-time leading 1-0 with goal by Kim Lammers, in the 23th minute, from a long cross by Maartje Goderie.

Any of the two teams had produced dangerous play in front of goals in a flat and slow match.

The scheme did not change so much after half-time, though Holland took advantage of a deep cross to allow Naomi van As to net the second, in the 39th minute.

Holland: De Roever; Voskamp, Booij, Schopman, De Bruijn; Scheepstra, van Geenhuizen, Smabers; Hoog, van As and Moreira de Melo. Also played: Meekels, van Eijk, Paumen and Lammers. Coach: Marc Lammers.

Germany: Frank; Bachmann, Totzke, Rinne, Matthes; von Livonius, Kühn, Müller; Hoffmann, Keller and Ernsting-Krienke. Also played: Hoyer, Heinlein, Kollmar, Stockel and Schutze. Coach: Markus Weise.
